For a trustee to resign from a trust account, we will require:
Option 1
-
A Change of Registration Form completed and signed by the resigning trustee. The resigning trustee's signature must be signature guaranteed on the form.
-
A copy of the trust documentation or a provision of the trust that states a trustee may resign.
To complete option 1, please click here. This link will initiate a DocuSign experience that allows you to complete the form and then print the form to sign, obtain a signature guarantee and mail to us.
Option 2
-
A Change of Registration Form completed and signed by the resigning trustee.
-
A certified copy of the Instrument of Resignation.
-
A copy of the trust documentation or a provision of the trust that states a trustee may resign.

The signature guarantee requirement is to protect against unauthorized requests by assuring the required signatures are genuine. A signature guarantee can be obtained at many commercial banks, credit unions, savings associations, or broker-dealers. A notary public is unable to provide an acceptable guarantee.
