Add a Power of Attorney (POA)

This change gives the POA the authority to act on behalf of the account owner. We require some additional steps to add a POA to the account. Simply having a POA designated does not grant access to the account.

Instructions and Links Additional Information
  • A signed Letter of Instruction form from the account owner or attorney-in-fact requesting to add or change the attorney-in-fact.
  • A signed and notarized Attorney-in-Fact's Certification and Acceptance Form that includes the full name, Social Security number, date of birth, and permanent street address of the attorney-in-fact. If the governing law does not require the form to be notarized, then check the box on page 2 of the form.
  • A notarized Power of Attorney document that lists all the powers and any restrictions of those powers.

  • A notary public from a financial institution is able to provide an acceptable validation. If obtaining a notary stamp, please be sure to include the notary public's business card or a signed letter from the notary public on the financial institution's letterhead.
  • We can return original documents that are mailed; simply include a note asking us to mail them back to you.
