Gifting shares gives you the ability to transfer mutual fund shares directly to an individual, corporation, charity, non-for-profit, church, or other entities. The individual or entity that is being gifted those shares must be aware of the gift and complete a New Account Application if they do not have an account. You are unable to gift shares from an Individual Retirement Account (IRA).

To gift shares from your account, we require a signature guaranteed letter of instruction signed by all account owners.

The signature guarantee requirement is to protect against unauthorized requests by assuring the required signatures are genuine. A signature guarantee can be obtained at many commercial banks, credit unions, savings associations, or broker-dealers. A notary public is unable to provide an acceptable guarantee.
