Add or Remove a Trustee

Please follow the instructions below to add or remove a trustee.

I want to add a trustee to my account. To add a trustee to your account, we will require:
  • A completed Change of Registration Form signed by all trustees.
  • A copy of the section of the trust documentation that specifically states a trustee can appoint a co-trustee or a copy of the amended trust documentation that lists the names of all trustees.

I want to remove a trustee from my account. For a trustee to resign from a trust account, we will require:

Option 1
  • A Change of Registration Form completed and signed by the resigning trustee. The resigning trustee's signature must be signature guaranteed on the form.
  • A copy of the trust documentation or a provision of the trust that states a trustee may resign.
Option 2
  • A Change of Registration Form completed and signed by the resigning trustee.
  • A certified copy of the Instrument of Resignation.
  • A copy of the trust documentation or a provision of the trust that states a trustee may resign.

  • The signature guarantee requirement is to protect against unauthorized requests by assuring the required signatures are genuine. A signature guarantee can be obtained at many commercial banks, credit unions, savings associations, or broker-dealers. A notary public is unable to provide an acceptable guarantee.
